Derek Holt, a visionary behind the lens, is driven by a passion for storytelling through the language of images. Throughout Derek's career, he's worked on various film, commercial and television sets where he has gained invaluable experience in both the camera and lighting department. In 2010, he was given the opportunity to work on the American Survivor reality television show. Derek had the privilege of being involved with this production each year since then having been involved in all aspects of camera work from Season 21 through to current, and gained expert and in-depth insight and experience into documentary and reality filmmaking. With extensive experience across all genres of filmmaking he now DP's on commercials, reality, documentary and film projects. When he's not behind the camera he spends his time outdoors, surfing, travelling and meeting people. Derek is currently based in Cape Town keeping as close to the fresh sea air as possible.
